This year I have been working closely with the people at the Big Data Institute at Oxford University. They wanted 3 films to help explain basic genetics in order to demonstrate the benefits of collecting genetic data in the fight against malaria. I worked with them from the initial concepts, scripts, storyboards, designs and animation and it was extremely enjoyable.

This second film aims to explain how genetic mutations can lead to mosquitos developing insecticide resistance and how genetic analysis can help combat this.

Isabel Morales Bondy and I directed this campaign animation for Fair Trials, due for release later this year. We combined live action footage from 3 real life human rights abuse stories with hand-painted rotoscoped animation.

This is a short animation I made for the School of Life: “How to Cope with an Avoidant Partner” written and narrated by Alain de Botton.

I recently made this animation with Emily Driscoll at NewYork-Presbyterian to explain an effective treatment for certain kinds of lymphoma and leukaemia.

Narrated by Dr. Prakash Satwani, pediatric hematologist/oncologist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

This first film aims to explain genetic mutations and their relevance in the fight against malaria.

I worked with the lovely people at Blake House to make this animation for the International Labour Organization to describe the training available for people who want to start their own cooperative. It was designed in the style of hand drawn illustrations in a textbook and it needed to be accessible to an international audience. It was a great project and Blake House were wonderful to work with.

The third animation made for the Big Data Institute is due for release later this year.

The aim of this animation was to demonstrate the benefit to the world community of sending malaria blood samples to the BDI for analysis.

This film was made for Spectrum, an online leading source of news and expert opinion on autism research. The subject matter is extremely interesting and it was wonderful to work with Rebecca at Spectrum.

I worked with Dimensions Plus to create an exhibit about Victorian doctor Mary Putnam Jacobi for the Design Our World Gendered Innovations Exhibition at the National Taiwan Science Education Center.

The exhibit has two projections sat next to each other that can be triggered to play different parts of the story of Mary Putnam Jacobi’s life.
