I See The Future

Made for: Anagram

Clients: Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust

I worked with the wonderful Anagram on this project for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon.

“I See The Future” is a project that used workshops to ask the residents of Stratford to think about how they saw their town in 100 years.

The participants were encouraged to draw their ideas during the workshops and so many beautiful drawings and notes were produced as well as some fun audio recordings.

I made two animations out of these drawings and the final videos were screened within some beautiful giant wooden binoculars that were placed into the busy Stratford-upon-Avon streets. If you put your head inside the binoculars you could see the animation overlaid onto a live video of the street in front. This meant that the audience could put themselves inside the animation and their friend could watch them live from inside the giant binoculars!

This was an extremely fun project and I really enjoyed speaking to people in Stratford about how they saw the future. Plenty of robots and climate disasters apparently.

Here are some articles written about the project:
